Product Description
It was 1915 when Heinrich Boker & Co. Solingen received the government order to develop a compact fighting knife that would be especially useful for trench warfare. After 90 years, we are reproducting the ordiginal knife blade out of carbon steel. The pronounced steel crossguard, the wood handle, (designed for a firm and safe grip), and the official tang stamp are identical to the original. On the back of the blade, each knife shows its serial number. Blade length: 5 5/8'. Overall length: 10-Inch. Weight: 5.9 oz.Boker Trench Knife Review
Well made and reasonably sharp upon arrival. Since this is a reproduction, that may explain why the false edge is not sharpened. It could be, making the knife even better. I'm not wild about the grip, which was long enough for me but square and did not afford a positive, non-slip surface. But as I said, this is a reproduction based on 1914 design standards. If I was going to use it for serious work, I'd beef up the grip to provide a more solid feel: Bigger, softer, and rounder. I would stake my life on this knife. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Boker Trench Knife" are high quality item.
