Out of my small collection of about six folding knives (two Kershaw's and four Spyderco's), the ZDP Stretch is by far the sharpest out of the box. It simply glides through copy paper, partly because of the steel, but mostly due to the blade geometry (very thin, full flat ground and a shallow edge angle compared to say a Manix 2). It's so sharp I worry I'll ever be able to reacquire such an edge after my mediocre sharpening skills.

I usually prefer G10 scales to FRN, but the grip on this knife isn't slippery in the least and inspires confidence with it's textured pattern. The lock-up is solid with no blade play and snaps into place with a resounding click. The action of opening the knife is a little stiffer compared to a Manix 2, due to the Stretch being a back lock, and I like it. I'm used to a wider handled knife so the Stretches more contoured ergonomics may take some getting used to, but so far it is very comfortable.

As a do it all slicing knife, I don't think you could do any better than the Stretch. The ergonomics are great, the steel is some of the newest on the market and the price (at around $89 when I bought mine) is excellent compared to what some other knife companies are charging for arguably inferior materials. Also I commend Spyderco on the active involvement they have with their customers, be it through their forum or direct contact, they have rather exceptional customer service.
