I'm in my first league, and I had been bowling with alley balls. The problem with alley balls, is that each one in the weight you select feels different, and rolls differently. I purchased the Hammer Grape Vibe, and I couldn't be happier. I was bowling in the low 100's... 112 to 118. (go ahead and laugh.. :) ). Now that the grape Vibe and myself have gotten acquainted, My bowling average has shot up 25 points.. (thank goodness!). I don't feel like the village idiot anymore. :) I actually feel that the more I use this ball, the better I'll get. If you want to roll it straight, it'll roll straight. If you want to hook it, the reactive covering makes it work well. It seems like the best controll of the ball is when you are on lesser oiled lanes, but with a little practice, it'll work on any pattern that's thrown at you. The price is reasonable, and the ball is fantastic.
