Didnt buy via Amazon. I like this lock a lot. PROS: +short key size is pocket friendly, +rare lock mechanism discourages picking, +clamps on without key, +can choose to clamp on with or without movement sensor engaged, +not so many false alarms, +long standby time for batteries. CONS: alarm is not very loud. ** The possibility to lock, without movement sensor is nice for instance work parking garage doesnt need the blinking led, and use up the batteries. Reacts to large movements such as turning of frontwheel or moving the entire bike. Typical use: 2 guys will try to roll bike into a large van or ontop of a pickup truck while you are inside the grocery store. The alarm sound will draw the attention of bystanders. Sawing: tongue is rounded and hardened surface. Cold spray: lock is covered by plastic. Hammering: plastic has to be removed before getting to hinge. Cutting: jaws wont fit around. Drilling: working next to the triggered alarm would be unpleasant and draw attention. I think the Abus Detecto will discourage bike nappers if it is likely that someone nearby can hear the alarm.
