Product Description
Empire Paintball introduces the updated version of one of the most revered paintball markers ever built, the Trracer. The new design is based on the classic Trracer and the internals are compatible with the original. We’ve updated the pump handle with better ergonomics and added Picatinny rails for accessories. The old dovetail was replaced by a modern Picatinny rail system to fit many of today’s accessories like the 10-round paintball magazine. The accurate Cocker threaded barrel and First Strike compatible breech are a sniper’s dream. Playing pump is old school, but there’s nothing old about the new Trracer from Empire Paintball.
Empire BT Trracer Pump Marker Review
I ordered my BT Trracer several months ago, but today was the first full day of play I was able to put it through. It exceeded my expectations.
I am a big fan of pump play. I have owned the original PMI Trracer, PGP's, Snipers, and a host of other pump guns. This is among my favorites. Like the old PMI Trracer it is easy to use and maintain. All the rail options make it easy to attach accessories. I use mine with a 10 round stick feed, and a BT red dot sight.
Throughout the day of play I had consistent velocity, and no barrel breaks or pinched balls in the breech. The feed neck keeps the balls flowing well into the marker and there is enough sensitivity in the handle to tell if something didn't fall into place yet. I used it on standard pump and shoot most of the day, but the auto trigger got me out of a few jams as well.
Like any paintball marker in the world, accuracy is affected by paint-to-barrel match. I found this barrel a little big internally, but if functioned well. I did have a few roll-outs, but in all it wasn't a problem. My field has notoriously small paint and this happens with just about every barrel I own.
The rails on the pump handle are surprisingly comfortable. I thought I might get some hot spots on my hands since I play without gloves, but it was comfortable all day long.
This is a great pump marker. If you value playing skill over accuracy-by-volume you can do a lot worse than this marker.
