Tubbs Men's Xplore Snowshoe Kit (Green/Black, 30-Inch) Review

This is my second go at purchasing a pair of snowshoes.
The first time around I bought a $50.00 pair of Alps snowshoes. I promptly returned them because the bindings broke on the first trip out! Stay away from any snowshoe that has plastic buckles/bindings! I think perhaps the cold weather can make the plastic even more brittle than it would be at room temperature. Trust me, if you buy a cheap set of snowshoes with plastic bindings, you will be disappointed.
Now, concerning the Tubbs Xplore set: THESE ARE GREAT! The only reason that I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is the SIZE of the bindings. Otherwise the bindings are well designed and pretty easy to use.
I have a modern pair of boots that are not big and bulky like the old felt lined boots that many people still use today. My boots are light and warm and fit well in these snowshoes so I am happy. But if you have a large pair of boots, don't buy this pair of snowshoes because it is likely that your boot will not fit in the bindings. Go to the manufacturer's web site to check out the specs and see a video on these snowshoes. Notice that she is demonstrating the bindings with shoes on, not boots. (The video shows a demonstration of the women's version of this snowshoe)
The only other thing I have to add is this: Make sure that you select a pair of snowshoes to fit your weight. Don't buy anything bigger than what you need.
