Product Description
Olukai worked in conjunction with the Hawaiian Lifeguard Association in the development of the Women's Kia'i Trainer Shoe. That explains why it's the official training footwear of the HLA, and why part of sales proceeds help support its Junior Lifeguard Program. A sticky rubber outsole grips hard lava rock to slick hills without missing a beat. ActivFit dual density anatomical footbed separates you from the tough, and possibly dangerous, terrain. The forefoot flex, in conjunction with the toe-off traction pattern, grooves to allow natural forefoot flexibility. Even though its hydrophobic, after several weeks of use, you may be glad to hear that the footbed may be removed and washed separately. Step in this agile shoe and see for yourself why this shoe is preferred by the world's premier oceanside guardians.Product Features

Womens OluKai Kia'i Trainer II, Charcoal/Orchid/Medium Grey , 7 B Review
This water/trainer shoe is comfortable, true to size and has a nice arch support. HOWEVER, it takes DAYS for this shoe to dry, if you have to dry it inside (even under a ceiling fan). For a water shoes, I would expect it to dry fast. It just soaks up water like a sponge. This shoe does not do well at all on sandy beaches or in the ocean. Tremendous amounts of sand gets into the shoe as soon as you set foot on the beach or in the water. I know you can't keep sand out of a shoe but this shoes does a very poor job compared to other water/trainer shoes of this type. Also, once my shoes got wet they stink! They smell horrible and I have washed them in mild detergent/soap, I have soaked them, I have even used baking soda and water as a soak and they have dried in the sun and they still smell horrible. It is not a mildew smell, it seems like it is the smell of the fabric itself. It smells sort of like petroleum or diesel. I am shocked that OluKai shoes are like this; I own many pairs of their sandals and love them. The nice arch in these shoes, however, are not as high as the arch in the Ohana sandals, as I was told by OluKai. I loved the comfort of the shoe when wearing to just walk around and not near water ... but now they STINK and I cannot get it to go away. I'm SO disappointed in this product. :(Update: OluKai Customer Service has been wonderful responding and upholding their warranty. They shipped me a new pair of Trainers and I love them. OluKai is a great company with quality shoes and they promptly honor their warranty. I will continue to purchase OluKai footwear.
