I did a 5 day backpacking trip down Tonto Creek in AZ with this pack. We were in the water more often than out. There were several swims where we had to float the pack and plenty of hiking where the pack was in the water. I had 26 lbs of gear and food inside, and it all stayed bone dry - not a drop got inside. Once sealed up the pack is VERY buoyant - if you step into water too deep, it will flip you over onto your face. The pack seems fairly durable - it had plenty of brush scrape it, and got dragged over some shallower rocks and still looks like new. I doc my rating one star because of the straps - they are sturdy, but kind of rough. 5 days of pack on, pack off, pack on ... having the strap scrape over your arm as you get the second strap in place is a little irritating. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Watershed Westwater Waterproof Backpack (Blue)" are high quality item.
