For an all day/ guide sized pack, the Zealot 16 hits the mark. Good fit, well stitched, great suspension (straps) and seems durable. The water bladder is a little tricky if you try to refill without removing from pack. 3 Liters is a good amount of water for everything but the very longest/ hottest/ hardest rides. The blue color is bright. To me black is too hot for a cycling pack... a patrol/guide red color would be good. The magnetic hose attachment is cool- similar to the Hydro Pak branded packs.

I carry a full first aid kit, repair kit (cleverly integrated into the base of the pack with it's own little pouch) shock pump, tire pump, water, snacks, cell phone, base layer or rain shell and when working a two way radio--- with everything well packed, there is still room to spare!

My only desire would be for engineered in or certified back protection like the POC or EVOC packs... but they are also more $$$. Instead of designed in protection, I unfold a SAM splint and lay it flat against the water bladder (facing the spine) for some extra protection and easy placement/ deployment, should you need to splint an injury.

I'd recommend the Zealot or any number of other Osprey products. They've all been functional, durable and although not inexpensive, money well spent.
