Mooto Extera Taekwondo Uniform Review

I have studied Taekwondo for 15+ years and have to say that these uniforms are definitely worth the investment.
Prior to this purchase, I used the traditional poly/cotton blend uniforms exclusively but am a full convert after using these for about a month now.

One of the biggest benefits I have seen from these uniforms is that the material they are made out of almost feels like you are wearing a full body, under armor type suit. Not to say that the uniform is skin tight, but that it seems to stretch with you and retain a bit of your body heat that helps in staying loose... as opposed to the poly/cotton that losses warmth and gets cold and wet quickly.
Also, another benefit from the stretch of the material is that you don't get that stopping feeling in the pant leg and inseam when you are extending your leg in the delivery of a kick.

Some things to note about these uniforms:
1. They seem to run a bit on the larger side. I usually wear a 4 but could have done with possibly a 3 in terms of arm/pant length and the elastic waist.
2. The ribbed material on the outside may take a bit to get used to if you have only worn smooth, poly/cotton blend uniforms before.
3. Get ready for every one to want to touch your uniform and ask you where you got it from.

As for the .1 of a second faster claim... I did not do a before and after test either kicking or punching.
The one thing I can say is that the under armor like feel has made me a bit more confident in my kicking... I am not as afraid of pulling a muscle or hyperextending myself kicking quickly or higher. This psychological benefit may make you a bit faster, but I don't think the uniform has any special powers to make you faster.

Overall, a bit on the pricey end, but worth the investment if you are a career TKDer or have the extra funds for a premium uniform choice.
