When I received the item it appeared smaller than � inch and when I compared it with an economy dock line purchased at West Marine - it was noticeably smaller. When I contacted the company they told me that some manufacturers have different standards for � inch so some diameters are smaller. Inside the thimble was stamped 7/16. If ordering from this company, verify the line size or order one size larger. Amazon refunded my money and the company sent a prepaid UPS sticker so I sent it back.
